The Selection changed the lives of thirty-five girls forever. And now, the time has come for one winner to be chosen.

America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown—or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the competition approaches its end and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose—and how hard she'll have to fight for the future she wants.

From the very first page of The Selection, this #1 New York Times bestselling series has captured readers' hearts and swept them away on a captivating journey... Now, in The One, Kiera Cass delivers a satisfying and unforgettable conclusion that will keep readers sighing over this electrifying fairy-tale long after the final page is turned.

Truth time, this series is addicting; like soap opera, you can't put down addicting. This series is labeled as dystopia but I could easily see it being labeled as contemporary because the main focal point of the series is all about American & Maxon.
I really enjoyed The Selection. I thought it was fun twist on the show 'The Bachelor'  and mixed in with some dystopia. I did not enjoy the sequel, 'The Elite' at all. America became super annoying & irritating and I wanted to hit her in the face so much! With the final book, 'The One' I felt kind of the same way.
America is still annoying as ever and I just can't get over that. Yes she is what, 16, 17, one of those but she has a chance to eventually become the Queen! Time for some growing up girl because that is a huge role to fill!
This whole series is about America & if she loves Maxon. Or wait does she love Aspen, or wait does she really want this or wait...and so on and so forth. America is and I'm just gonna say it 'The most annoying protagonist I have ever read!'. Even at this first if I were to meet America I would just ask 'Why? Why are you so annoying and wishy washy? What's your deal?'
Overall I do enjoy this series. I couldn't put it down. It's full of love triangles and annoying girls and it's just like a tv show you know you shouldn't watch but you just can't because your addicted.
I didn't hate this book at all, I think the series is great. I wouldn't say it's one of my all time favorite series but rather a series I just enjoy.

What did you think?

  1. I am reading The One at the moment and I'm really enjoying it, but unfortunately America is being irritating. Hopefully that'll change and I think it will since I love this series. By the way is anyone else tired of series!?!?!

  2. I seem to be the only one who likes America. The only time it really got annoying was all the fighting with Maxon. All and All I enjoyed the books so much. Tired of the series? Not so much. It was meant to be as it is (aka a trilogy).
