I stumbled across this little survey/questionnaire or whatever you want to call it & thought it would be a fun blog post to do.
Let the questions begin!
1. Which book has been on your shelves the longest?
Hard question! I wish I was smart when I was younger & saved all my books but alas I did not, shame on me. I would have to say Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit has faithfully been on my shelf for at least 10 years.
2. What is your current read, your last read and the book you'll read next?
I am currently reading Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas & the book I will read next....I'm not quite sure. Lately I've just been reading what I want and not setting myself to a strict schedule.
3. What book did everyone like and you hated?
Another hard question! A ton of people LOVE Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Maragret Stohl but not so much me. I started and stopped the book at least 3 times before buckling down to finish it due to pressure!
4. Which book do you keep telling yourself you'll read, but you probably won't?
Every year I say I will read the Lord of the Rings trilogy and every year I don't. At least this year I can say I 'listened' to The Hobbit so that counts for something but let's be real I'll probably never get around to reading the whole series.
5. Which book are you saving for "retirement?"
Hmm I'm not sure how to answer this. I don't really save any books for later but if I had to choose I would say the Percy Jackson series. I read the first one and loved it but I want to take a good 2 weeks just to marathon the mess out of the whole series.
6. Last page: read it first or wait till the end?
Ha I am so guilty of reading the last page especially when it comes to last books of the series. I am just no good with surprises, it's horrible! I am getting better though!
7. Acknowledgements: waste of ink and paper or interesting aside?
They are fine with me! I understand if you pour your heart & soul into a book that you want to acknowledge the people who helped you.
8. Which book character would you switch places with?
Hermione Granger, without a doubt.
9. Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life (a person, a place, a time)?
Harry Potter always. I will always remember reading the series and just the amazing memories it gave me!
10. Name a book you acquired in some interesting way.
I honestly have no answer to this because I just don't know, lol!
11. Have you ever given away a book for a special reason to a special person?
Sure have!
12. Which book has been with you to the most places?
Probably Harry Potter.
13. Any "required reading" you hated in high school that wasn't so bad ten years later?
Hmmm another hard question. I'm not sure, I think I enjoyed a lot of required reading.
14. What is the strangest item you've ever found in a book?
Not sure.
15. Used or brand new?
I'm good with both! I'm all about saving money!
16. Stephen King: Literary genius or opiate of the masses?
I honestly wouldn't know. I've never read Stephen King & probably never will. I'm not a horror fan but I hear he writes amazing things!
17. Have you ever seen a movie you liked better than the book?
Honestly no. Usually the book is always better than the movie!
18. Conversely, which book should NEVER have been introduced to celluloid?
I'm just going to be honest here. I have no idea what the world
celluloid means, and I just looked it which made this question not make
any sense to me so I'm just going to leave my answer like this: I have
no idea.
19. Have you ever read a book that's made you hungry, cookbooks being excluded from this question?
Any book with a cupcake on it will make me want a cupcake. And now guess what? I want a cupcake.
20. Who is the person whose book advice you'll always take?
There are certain booktubers who if they say they love a book, I have to get it immediately just because we have such similar tastes.
