10 Things About Me

You guys know some stuff about me but I thought I would make a fun list of 10 random things about myself! Some of them are silly, some serious but I hope you have fun reading them and learning more about yours truly!

1. I like lists

Wait no, I love lists. I write a list for everything- what to buy at the store, things to do, things I want to buy, you name it I list it.

2. I have a weird obsession with Jimmy Fallon.

 He's hilarious and seems like such a nice, genuine guy. I've told Matt he's my 2nd husband. My friend bought me a shirt that says I love Jimmy Fallon. No joke guys, the obsession is real and well...a little weird!

3.  Cherry is my favorite flavor.

When it comes to Slurpees, Starbursts, Popsicle , anything with the flavor cherry will always be my ultimate favorite.

4. I binge watch Netflix

Ok who doesn't? Man when I set my eyes on a TV show on Netflix you best believe I'm gonna watch all of it within a month. Right now I'm binge watching Parenthood a show I quit watching years ago because it made me cry a ton! It just ended and I decided to pick it up again. It's an amazing show but it brings the tears and not the pretty ones either. It brings the ugly cry!

5. Target is my favorite store.

I don't say this lightly either! I love shopping and Target just has all the things I need and I find you can really save money there! With the Redcard, the Carthwheel app and coupons, you best believe I'm walking out of Target saving a ton and feeling pretty good about it!

6. I also have an obsession with Lauren Conrad

I'm not ashamed to admit I watched a ton of Laguna Beach and The Hills. They were of my time and I soaked it all up! I love Lauren Conrad or 'LC' and thought she was just so effortlessly beautiful. I loved watching her grow up and become so successful and so poised. I truly think she's an amazing, accomplished business woman and I have a total lad crush on her!

7. I don't read enough

Reading is hard for me these days. I have a 5 month old son who literally keeps me busy every moment. When he naps which sometimes can be for 45 minutes or 2 hours I struggle with deciding to read or clean my insanely dirty house or catch up on blogging or film a video. It's a really tough juggling act for me right now and I'm still figuring things out. I want to read more..I just wish I had more time to do so.

8. Workaholic

I'm a workaholic, there is no doubt about that. I love and hate that about myself. I feel like I push myself to work harder because the payoff will be great but then I'm just so tired after doing so! I am a wedding photographer, book blogger and vlogger and a Mom. Those are alot of jobs! I love doing them all but it's tough sometimes!

9. I am a professional wedding photographer.

My main job is photography. I'm mainly a wedding/engagement photographer and I just can't get enough of it. Here is some of my work below!

10. I love D.I.Y but wish I was better at it.

When I look at Pinerest I am blown away with the amazing D.I.Y things on there. I have attempted some D.I.Y stuff & I wish I was better at it but I admit I love doing it.

I hope that was a little glimpse into my life!

Personal Planner

As you can see I chose an image I found off of Tumblr. It's a Dumbledore quote because duh, I love Harry Potter.

These photos aren't that colorful and vibrant because all the planners come with a plastic page to protect your front and back cover.

I'm very basic if you can see with my planner, haha!

At the back of my planner I have a year overview and opted to have a ton of blank pages in the back for extra noteage!

Reading Goals for 2015

2014 was a crazy year for me. I got pregnant & had my 1st baby so reading kind of fell to the wayside which I didn't love but it happened.

2015 is going to be even crazier. I'm going into the new year with a 4 month old baby that's gonna need my attention 24/7 but I don't want to quit reading altogether.

So I've decided to tweak my goals a ton!

First let's look back on my 2014 Goals & how I fared with them.

1. Read 75 Books

This defiantly didn't happen for reasons above. I only read 47 books this year but I'm ok with that! I still read a ton I think.

2. Buy Less Books

 I did accomplish this goal! Funds got tight this past year so I honestly had no option to buy more books. Instead I got lucky enough to get in contact with some amazing publishers who wanted to send me books in exchange for reviews. 

3. Read The Percy Jackson Series

Whoops, this didn't happen either. I've only read the first book in the series but have no fear because I do plan on finishing the series in 2015! Thanks to my awesome Secret Santa for gifting me the box set, I have no excuses not to read it now!

4. Attempt to read The Lord of The Rings Series

I did listen to The Hobbit, does that count?

Ok so that was my 2014 Goals

Now onto my 2015 Goals!

1. Read 40 Books

I know it's not a ton of books but I think that's a reasonably if not somewhat impossible.

I really, really hope I can achieve this goal!

2. Buy Less Books

I'm keeping this one the same from last year because I honestly do not need to buy anymore books

3. Read the Percy Jackson Series

I have no excuse not to complete this one because I now own the box set.

No excuses, Heather! You must complete this goal!

4. Reread the Harry Potter Series

I did put this in my last minute goals for last year and I did pretty well with it. I reread the first 4 books so I only need to reread the last 3! 

5. Read books I really want to read

I forgot to include this in my video but this goal is really important. When I looked back on the books I read from last year I wasn't in love with a lot of them. 

I read a lot of mediocre books in my opinion. I read books for the sake of reading them which isn't bad but next year I want to read a lot of amazing books!

I plan to make a shelf on my bookcase dedicted to books I want AM going to read next year! It will be books I really want to read and not just books that I think will be ok.

So those are my goals for 2015!
I will do a blog post mid-year to update you all on my progress!

Life with a 3 month old

Most of you know I had my first child this past September.

Last week he turned 3 months old.

WHERE DID THE TIME GO?

Everyone always told me how fast babies grew and I just shook it off.

I mean how fast can they grow? They're just babies!
Well everyone was right!
Noah grows so fast, it's insane!

One day he starts smiling, the next he's discovered his hands, everyday it's a new development and milestone it seems.

Time flies faster than normal when you have a baby I think.

You can get caught up in the humdrum of schedules and sleep deprivation and just sheer exhaustion but it's so worth it!

I'm not gonna lie, the first 2 months of his life were the hardest. I did not think I would ever sleep for more than 3 hours at a time. I thought he would cry all day, everyday but things change.

Babies grow and become happy (somewhat) and then they give you those toothless grins that melt your heart into a huge puddle and you think I can do this.

I wouldn't trade my life for anything. I love and adore my little one even though he can be a terror (sometimes or a lot). I'm so thankful he's in my life and that he's healthy and growing.

My days are a blur of feeding him, diapers and spit up.

But it's a glorious life and Matt and I are so grateful to be his parents.

Happy 3 months baby boy! I bet the next 3 are going to FLY BY!

What I'm Thankful for

This year has been a crazy one, that's for sure.

I got pregnant.

I traveled to New York for Bookcon.

I celebrated my 26th birthday.

I had my beautiful baby boy.

I am so thankful for so many things.

First of all, to all my amazing subscribers on my Youtube channel. 

The booktube community is one of the nicest community's on Youtube. The support from you guys make everything more awesome!

I love you guys!
I loved meeting some of you at Bookcon as well! You guys rock!

I am thankful for my amazing family.

Matthew, my insanely wonderful husband has been amazing & I love him so.

Noah, our first son I am thankful for the most this year. He is truly a gift from God and I am thankful for him everyday. I love my little family of me, Matt, Noah & our dog Colleen.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am thankful for all the amazing friends I met through booktube. 

I met some seriously awesome ladies and I love talking to them everyday! I feel like even though we are in different states, even countries that we will be lifelong friends!

There is so much more I am thankful for but I just wanted to list a few.

I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving!

May you be thankful for the things in your life because life is never guaranteed.

New Youtube Channel!

Hello all!
Since I recently became a Mom I thought I would start a new Youtube channel dedicated to my life, family and things other than books.

I want to put up some vlogs on family outings, baby videos, Mom videos and even 

some beauty videos.

My Office Space

I've already made a video about my office space but I thought I would write a blog with photos as well!

Sorry for the dusty screen on my Mac!

My office is consists of a little desk in a corner of my living room. We already had this beautiful vintage desk that a friend gave us and we just incorporated it in with my bookshelf.

Right above it is a small cabinet my husband built for me. As if he doesn't build me enough! 

Behind my Mac I have 2 cork boards I just put random things on. Photos, letters and etc!

The thing that holds my pens is a weird sculpture I made way back in high school! It's weird looking I know but I just can't seem to get rid of it.

Fall Decor & DIY's

It's no secret I love fall. It's my favorite season. Every year I anticipate the arrival of September and the leaves, fashion, candles and cooking it brings.
My soul truly comes alive in the fall.

With that being said, I'd thought I would share with you some of my fall decor & DIY's I've done lately. Every few months or so I go Pinterest crazy, who doesn't? I probably will do some more DIY's from Pinterest but for now here are a couple I've made!

 I am in love with these mason jar candles. All you need are fake leaves & some mod podge! Tie some twine around the top & viola you have cute fall decor!

Then we have this wood cut out that I painted chalkbaord paint on! You can find the wood cut out at Micheals or any craft store. I LOVE the way this turned out! Plus I am going to use it year round & not just for fall!

After I discovered the wonder of chalkboard paint I went kind of crazy. I just painted some on these jars I had. I'm going to write various things on them throughout the year.

I'm sure I'll do some more fall DIY's but I just wanted to share with you what I have now.
