Top Ten Tuesday- Favorite Heroines From Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people over at The Broke & The Bookish.

This week is all about your favorite heroines! I have a ton so sit back & enjoy!

1. Caleana from the Throne of Glass Series

Celeana is a bad ass. She's a an assassin for goodness sake. She knows how to get things done and has a kind heart, what more could you want?

2. Hermione from the Harry Potter Series

Hermione will always be on this list, period. She is such an amazing character. She's smart, loyal and will fight to the end for her friends.

3. Clara from the Unearthly Trilogy

Clara is a very kind hearted person. She has a mission throughout the entire series but her heart's conflicted in it.

4. Tessa from The Infernal Devices Trilogy

I love Tessa. She's head strong and knows what to do. That can't be said for Clary from The Mortal Instruments Series. She made rash decisions while Tessa really aims to think things through logically.

5. Ruby from The Darkest Minds

Ruby is a fighter and she is insanely determined and will always stick by her friends. An amazing heroine.

6. Tris from the Divergent Trilogy

Tris is also a fighter. She is a little rash sometimes but ultimately she strives for freedom and the right thing. I will always love Tris!

7. Blue from The Raven Cycle

Blue is such a unique character. She comes from a family of telepathic people and she is super interesting. Plus she gets to hang out with the Raven Boys which makes her even more awesome!

8. Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles

Cinder is a very sweet girl that is also a fighter. She's such a complex character and I can't wait to see her in the last book soon!

9. Cass from The 5th Wave Series

Cass is a fighter that is for sure. To survive an alien takeover you have to be! She is fiercely loyal to her little brother and will do anything to protect him.  Love Cass!

10. Katniss from The Hunger Games Trilogy

Another fighter! I would not EVER mess with Katniss, she would take you down for sure! Katniss has had a ton of things bad happen in her life and yet she will always fight for what's right. That's very admirable!

Top Ten Tuesday- Book Related Problems

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people over at The Broke & The Bookish.

This week is all about book related problems! As avid readers we all get them. Whether it be a silly problem or a serious one, the struggle is REAL.

1. To Many books, not enough money.

We all struggle with this one. I want to buy all the books in the world! The special editions, the movie cover copies, the really pretty books, I want them all! We live in tough times my friend so the option of buying all the books won't happen for me. Maybe one day but until then I'll just keep pining over ALL THE BOOKS.

2. To Many Unread Books

About a year ago I started getting emails from publishers wanting me to review for me. Um, literally nothing could excite me more! I agreed to read all the books they sent me and boy was that a mistake. I've learned quickly not to agree to read every book someone wants you to review because 1. Sometimes you might not have enough time 2. You thought the book would be interesting but it isn't and you have obligations to read it.
I've learned now to only ask/buy and accept  books  I know I will without a doubt read because let's face it a whole wall of books is beautiful but if over half of them are unread, you will feel daunted.

3. The Wait

How many times have you devoured the 1st or 2nd or others in the series within days and then realized you have to wait a whole year before the next book comes out! That wait is horrid and far to excruciating long!

4. Cover Changes

Mid Series cover changes ARE THE WORST. I have ranted about this before & will several times more! I truly dislike when the 2nd or last book in the series comes out and they change the cover! I mean I bought the first 2 with the same cover schemes and then they just up and change it!

Take for example the Across The Universe Trilogy. The first 2 books in the series were beautiful and then the third one came out...

And it was a Tarzan jungle. Why oh why? Cover changes are the worst.

5.  Not enough space

If I could I would have bookshelves all over my house but alas there's just not enough room! #booknerdproblems for real!

6.  Not enough time

After becoming a Mom my reading time went significantly down. I'm lucky if I get 10 minutes a day to read. I'm a real book lover so I'm struggling with this but I know in time it will get better and I will have more time to read.

7. TBR Pile

This is probably on everyone's list. My TBR pile feels never ending & I hate it!

8. Reading Everywhere

I have a habit of taking a book everywhere with me. When I'm waiting in line at the store, I read. When I'm stuck in traffic, I read. When things are boring at a social event, I read. I don't think people really like that though so it's a problem.

9. Reading Slumps

They are the worst. We all go through them & it sucks.

10. Final book in a series isn't good.

I have several favorite series and trilogies where I love the first couple of books and then the last one comes out and it doesn't end the way it should! I invested so much time into loving the story and characters and when the series ends horribly...it just makes me really sad!

Top Ten Tuesday- Things I Like/Dislike When It Comes To Romances In Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely The Broke & The Bookish.

This week is all about Things I Like/Dislike When It Comes To Romances In Books.
It's no secret I love romance in books. However there are some things I don't like!
Here goes the list!

1. Insta-love

I highly dislike instalove. I do somewhat believe in love at first sight but in books instalove is the WORST. For a couple to get together within 20 pages just baffles me. As readers I think we all enjoy the buildup, the awkward moments it takes for a couple to become well...a couple.

2 & 3. The Buildup.

Yes I putting this as #2 and #3 because I love and hate the buildup of relationships in books. In a lot of books I love it! The buildup is sweet and you can wait patiently for it. In some books the buildup is slow and feels like the couple will never get together, but then they do in the last 20 pages of the book. WHAT?!
So it can be done right & it can be done wrong.

4. Bad boys

I love me some bad boys in books. In real life, not so much. In books you can get this real jerk, bad boy who thinks he's so tough to learn he's really a great guy with an amazing heart. Should I make a list of my favorite bad boys in books? Comment below!

5.  Adultery

I've been reading a ton of adult fiction these past couple of years and in alot of them there was adultry. I go into a nice adult romance book expecting for lovey dovey feels only to find someone cheats on their spouse and I truly despise that. Sure it happens in real life I get that but I'm an old soul that really believe in marriage and the sanctity of it. Cheating in marriages just really, really grinds my gears!

6. The friends turned into loves

I truly love it when a book starts off with a guy and girl who are friends and then later in the book realize 'hey I love him/her!' *cough Ron & Hermione cough*

7 & 8. Love Triangles

I somewhat like & dislike love triangle's all at once. There are some books that do it amazingly and some books are just horrible at it.

9. The Girl that always needs saving

Oh man there are so many books where the girl just needs to be saved all the time and I'm not a huge fan of that at all!

10.

I couldn't think of a tenth one, haha!

Top Ten Tuesday- Books You Would Read With Your Book Club

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people over at The Broke & The Bookish.

This week is all about books you would read with your book club if you had one!
I do particpate in a book club with 3 of my booktube friends, The Chick Lits but we have fallen quite behind!

I've selected 7 books ( because I'm lazy & ran out of time) I want to read with my book club.
They are all adult chick lit books and I won't leave an explanation for all of them because I want to read them all. They all sound amazing and lovey and cute!

What books would you read in your book club?

Top Ten Tuesday- Top 10 Books of 2014

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people over at The Broke & The Bookish

Ok so I admit I have been dreading writing this post. Why? I looked back on the books I read this past year & I wasn't super excited looking at it. I read some amazing books this year but the majority of them were mediocre in my opinion.
I think that's because I just wanted to read as much as possible. Granted I only read 47 books this year but that's because 3 months ago I had a baby so all my time went to him which I didn't mind at all.
I read a ton but wasn't super in love with alot that I read if that makes sense.
So this list is kind of all over the place!
Just a forewarning!

I loved this book! I wasn't a huge fan of Kenneally's last books but I adored this one. It's about Annie who is training to run a marathon for her ex-boyfriend who died. It's an amazing book about motivation, pushing yourself and moving on.

Of course I loved this, I mean Stephanie Perkins wrote it. I will say it was probably my least favorite out of the triology but I still loved it none the less. If your looking for gooey, mushy love this is it!

This book was so hilarious! It's a funny adventure book about a girl named Harper who has to become a paladin and protect the one person on Earth who she hates the most! So funny, a must read!

I went into this book expecting one thing but it completly blew my mind! It's marked as a mystery but I would say it's more of a family drama as well. Mix in mystery with family problems and a mixed race family in the 70's and you have an amazing book!

I finally read it! I've been holding off on reading this for forever because cancer is a bit of bad history in my life but this book was amazing! I read it this year because of the movie coming out (which I own but have still yet to watch!). An amazing book of course!

There is seriously not a Matson book I don't love! This one was amazing! It was all about friendship & finding out who you are!

Another author who can't seem to write a book I don't love. I adored this one! I don't think alot of people loved it as much as I did but I loved the aspect of marriage in this one. So, so good!

I love this series! This is my 2nd favorite of the series with the 1st book being my favorite. If your looking for an awesome paranormal book that's different and unique this series is the one to pick up!

The last book in the series & I loved it! I'm sure you already know all about this series so I will continue on.

My favorites of the year! I loved this series! The first book was amazing! The second book- awesome! The last book- fantastic! This series is seriously so amazing! I can't wait until more books come out!

So there were my favorites from this past year!
What are some of yours?

This is the 2nd book in the Rebel Belle series & I cannot wait for it! The first book was wildly hilarious and I'm sure this one will be as well!

This is a new series by the author who brought us the Throne of Midnight and I cannot wait!

5. Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver
I love Lauren Oliver's books, enough said.
6. The Heir by Keira Cass
It's no secret I didn't love The Selection Trilogy. I did really like the first book though so I'm looking forward to this one. It's about the main character's daughter going through her own selection. I'm intrigued.
7. Winter by Marrissa Meyer
The last book in the Lunar Chronicles. I still haven't read Cress but I can't wait for this one!
8. The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler
Another one of my favorite contemporary authors!

Yes I know it was only 8 instead of 10 but I didn't do enough research so 8 it shall be. Hope that's ok!
